INDIA 4 WAY TEST ESSAY CONTEST
WINDSOR 1918 ROTARIAN OM CHANDRA IS THE VERY PASSIONATE LEADER OF THIS FIVE YEAR PROJECT.
This project is meant to encourage young students in India to think and write about corruption, the Rotary 4-Way Test and elimination of corruption by practicing this test.
The objective is to instill moral and ethical values in future generations so that they will equate an act of corruption with an evil and an immoral act..
NECESSITY OF 4-WAY TEST
Our world had high moral and ethical values in the past when human beings lived within their means to fulfill their needs and worked hard if they had any additional dreams and desires. As an example, Lord Macaulay is quoted as saying in the British Parliament in 1835 words that are both astounding and noteworthy. Said Macaulay “I have traveled across the length and breadth of India and I have not seen one person who is a beggar, who is a thief. Such wealth I have seen in this country, such high moral values, people of such calibre, that I do not think we would ever conquer this country unless we break the very backbone of this nation, which is her spiritual and cultural heritage.” This statement was definitely true for most countries of our world in 1853.
However, things have changed and most people in our world today have unending desires which they are fulfilling by demolishing every moral and ethical value. Therefore, spreading 4-Way test is of vital importance. |
