At its “Family Day” program on April 25, 2011 the Rotary Club of Windsor (1918) inducted eleven new Paul Harris Fellows. The new PHF Rotarians are Adeline Bechard, Neil Bear, Gerry Trottier, Sue Byron, Mohamed Moussa, Karen Mingay and Rosalie Turner. The non-Rotarian PHFs are Brian O. Goebel, Gerry Semenuk, Pat Kelly and Jayne Miranda Mitroff. President Nominee-Nominee Janet Kelly received her 2-sapphire PHF and Tom Goebel received his 1-sapphire PHF.

Youth in Philanthropy Award
On November 18th at Ambassador Golf Club, The Association of Fundraising Professionals, Canada South Chapter presented the Rotaract Club of Windsor (1918) with the Youth in Philanthropy Award. Rotaract was recognized for all of its fundraising efforts over the last two years. In the picture are Rotaract members from left to right are, Cynthia Kais, Monica Nowak, Andrew Peltier, Ashley Beausoleil and Erin James.
Pinning Ceremony
On Sunday January 23, 2011 President Rick, Past President Maureen Lucas, Sgt. At Arms and Past President Walter Willms, Youth Services Committee Chair Nancy Leavoy and Youth Services Committee Secretary Lynn Rehman all members of the Rotary Club of Windsor (1918) joined the Rotaract club to participate in their pinning ceremony. Standing to the right of the banner is club President Andrew Peltier and to the left is Vice-President Monica Nowak. Past president and Ambassadorial Scholar Alex Kais attended via the laptop being held by his sister Cynthia. In all, the club has about 30 members, with three new members joining this year. The major fundraiser planned for this year is the Battle of the Brains to take place on March 25, 2011 at 6 pm. Presents $106,200 Cheque to the John McGivney Children’s Centre.
On Tuesday, January 11, 2011 the Rotary Club of Windsor (1918) presented a ceremonial cheque to the John McGivney Children’s Centre representing its 2010 donation of $106,200. Windsor (1918) has now donated $576.200 of its $1,000,000 commitment made in 2007. The centre, which provides essential services to children with complex disabilities, is named after Past President John McGivney. In 1978, PP John spearheaded the needs assessment that led to the opening of the centre.

Spitfires Hockey Organization receive PHFs

Four Paul Harris Fellowships were presented to members of
the Windsor Spitfires Junior A Hockey organization
Mickey Renaud, a Spitfire player and team captain on the 2009 Memorial Cup, died from heart complications during the season
His uncle holds his award. Bob Bougner, Mike Dobrich and Warren Rychel are key management members who helped build the Team.
