Scholarship Event

On Tuesday, May 24, 2011 the Belleville Rotary Club held their 66th Annual Scholarship Award Program at Belleville’s First United Methodist Church. Five Belleville High School graduates were awarded scholarships of $1,500 each.

Murder Mystery

The Belleville Rotary Club president Rachel Kozlowski presented a check to Head Librarian and Belleville Rotarian Debra Green for $4000 to the Belleville Area District Library for literacy at the fundraising event, “Murder At the Library”. Belleville Rotarian Keith Bruder played the detective Sam Slayed to a packed audience. The community had so much fun that they are requesting another Murder Mystery at the library again soon.

Scholarship Award Program

On Tuesday, May 20th, 2008 the Belleville Rotary Club held their 63rd Annual Scholarship Award Program. The club recognized five recipients of first time scholarships and five recipients of second year renewal scholarships.

New scholarship recipients were: Kendall Acho, Jessalyn Graveldinger, Lacey Jo Marcott, Samantha McIntosh and Samantha Stamper. Second year renewal scholarship recipients were: Kelli Driscoll, Jillian Kroc, Cortney Mendez, Lynesha Richards, and Michelle Woods.

Debra Green, President of the Belleville Rotary Club, offered greetings to guests, scholarship recipients and their parents. Don Juchartz, Chair of the Charles B. Cozadd Rotary Foundation Scholarship Committee talked about the history of the scholarship program and its potential impact upon the recipients. Debra Juchartz, Chair of the Belleville Rotary Club Scholarship Committee, introduced each scholarship recipient. Each recipient gave a brief biographical summary and on their plans for the future.

Jenni Marsh, Director of Office of Financial Programs Honors College at Michigan State University talked to the audience on "Imagine the Possibilities". She shared her experiences as a Rotary exchange student in Ecquador and her perspectives on the need for students to develop global perspectives and acquiring experience in their planned chosen fields while attending college.
