District Governor's Golf Outing - 2009

The Detroit Rotary Club again sponsored a very fun and successful 36th District Governor Golf Outing!  It was held at the Lakes of Taylor Golf Club in Taylor Michigan  The Chair was Detroit Rotarian David Nims . Vice-Chair was Russ Ives. The Golf Outing Committee was Phil Buck, Kojo Dom, Mary Ferris, Colleen Dolan-Greene, Trey Greene, Jay Ganatra, Nick Krayacich, Trey Greene, Larry Powe and Liz Smith.
The 28th Annual District Governor's Golf Outing is now in the history books, and it was a great success! For only the second time in its 27 years, it was held on the U.S. side of the border, this time at the Lakes of Taylor Gofl Club. 100 golfers participated, which represents more than a 20% increasefrom 2008, The winning team was from Windsor-St. Clair,and DGE Kim-possible Towar celebrated her upcoming 2010 DGGO early by winning the closest-to-the-pin prize for women. We expect that, when the accounting is done, the event will meet or exceed last year's return of over $12,500 for world community service!!!
A big thank you to chair David Nims, who headed this year's event for the first time! And also, much appreciation is due to the golfers, the clubs, Past District Governors, and other sponsors who have been so loyal in supporting this event for many years - it doesn't work without your help, and we are grateful! We are hoping that every club in the district will help to sponsor next year's event, to make it even better and provide more funds to world community service projects.
