We Care We Can

ROTARY FILLS FOOD BANKS
In an effort to provide aid, a wonderful partnership was developed between the Rotary Clubs of Windsor and Essex County, Mayflower Moving, the Greater Essex County District School Board and the Windsor Spitfires to conduct a county-wide food drive, called "We Care, We Can". These partners worked in co-operation with the Windsor/Essex County Food Bank Association to address the food shortage in this community.

I am overjoyed to share with you that they collected a STAGGERING number of cans ­ over 250,000 pounds totaling $1.5 million dollars of food! Every food bank has been filled - it is truly a Holiday Miracle! Congratulations to the leaders of this project, Family of Rotary Co-Chair, Arnie Charlton, Health and Hunger Chair, Alynn Anglin and Windsor St. Clair President, Shelly Duben.

The photo's are of school children loading their can's - the young one's are from Colchester North Public School and the teens are from Riverside High School.
