Trenton Rotary Club - 2007 Roar on the River The Trenton Rotary Club executed its Meijer Roar On The River Boat Races with great precision and all boats competing had sponsors. Our Gorno Ford Roar in the Park brought out 150 classic autos and even more public. Our Children's Fun Fair, largely staffed by Monroe Bank and Trust and the Trenton Rotary had its biggest participation ever. Estimated attendance was 25-35,000 people on Saturday. Corporate Tent Sponsors held company picnics at the Races. Typhoon Tommy and his crew of Extreme performers entertained the crowds between the races and then held an evening show. National City Bank employees manned our control tent and sold tickets for beverages, while Rotary volunteers served sandwiches, pizza and beverages. Meijer supported us by selling pop, water and cameras and sun tan lotion. As the Car show and races faded, a first all class reunion of Trenton High School graduates was held and judged a great success. We had a blues show that was interrupted by the Daimler Chrysler Fireworks that saw Trenton Rotarian Bill Jasman thank DCX for their participation then led the crowd with a countdown that kicked off the intense show. The Boat Racers also had three of their members honored with Paul Harris awards. Laurie Allen, Jim Kerr and John Broge were presented their Paul Harris Awards. Don Allen was also cited posthumously for his and his wife's Laurie's efforts for the Get R Done Project. Return to the 2007 - 2008 Photo Gallery
