Taylor Rotary - Turn Off the Violence Family Day 2007 The Annual TOV Event was a wonderful success! The weather was just perfect! This is the 12th TOV Event that features great wholesome alternative activities for children of all ages. It was held at the City of Taylor Heritage Park from 4 to 7 PM. The Rotarians gave out lots free food and beverages to everyone. Large crowds heard the West Middle School's Band and Choruses perform their first concert of the school year. Chorus Director Dave Martin had over 124 students in attendance. Band Director Carole Scott had about 50 band members. There was several non-profit organizations at the event. Community Care Services. The Shriners "Fry's Tinlizzies" provided miniature car entertainment. Taylor Karate Group had a booth. Taylor Golf gave golf lessons to the children. Taylor Free Methodist Church had puppet shows, balloon making, finger painting and arts & crafts for the children - all done by their youth group. The following organizations that donated their time and talents were DARE, Taylor Lanes, Ray's Food and the Taylor Community Credit Union. Of course, the Taylor Fire Fighters were on hand for Fire Truck Tours and the Police Officers Canine Crew were on hand. It was just wonderful to see so many children having fun on a great day in Taylor, Michigan. Rotarian Jerry Ziemba was the outstanding chair for this event. See you next year!
