Rotary Youth Leadership Awards - 2007

Over one-hundred future leaders have completed the most amazing, awesome and inspirational RYLA Seminar. They were sponsored by thirty-eight District 6400 Rotary Clubs. The two and one-hal day leadership skills seminar was held at the outstanding facilities of the Livonia Campus of SchoolCraft College. The hard working and dedicated RYLA Committee included PDG Jim Karolyi (Chair), Kris Moe (Registrar), Carlo Abati (Essex County Travel Coordinator), MIke Cutler (Overnight stay coordinator), Colleen Dolane and Try Greene, Arnie Charlton, Mary and Pat Kehoe and Chris Hardy.

This extremely successful seminar was due to the very terrific faculty who provided opportunity to these future adult leaders to learn and practice vital hands-on leadership skills. Laura Whichello started with ice-brakers team building fun exercises Thursday evening. MIchael Angelo Caruso was the lead facilitator for seven hours on Friday and eight hours on Saturday. He is absolutely extremely phenomenally talented in giving the best experience possible to all the RYLA Students. He lectures, entertains, encourages, challenges and inspires them to be the best leaders possible. PDG Fred Sorrell was the Friday noon keynote presenter. He challenged them in seven specific ways to be an effective persons and leaders. ADG Mark and Mary Murray had a very raucous but practical presentation on fun and energy. DG Jennifer Jones welcomed and congratulated them for attending RYLA plus also sharing her ideas what it takes to be an effective leader in the volunteer and business world.

Each of these 175 photos try to portray the faculty commitment and the total involvement & enthusiasm of the youth leaders. They really don't come close to the show the emotionally charged environment that built thorough out the RYLA experience.
