Plymouth Noon Rotary Club - Scholarships

On May 23th, the Plymouth Noon Rotary Club awarded many scholarships to students who reside in the Plymouth City and Township area - EIGHTEEN STUDENTS!  The Rotary Club handed out the Memorial, Academic, and Vocational/Career Educational Scholarships to high school seniors from Plymouth, Canton, Salem and Starkweather High Schools. These students are the brightest and the best in the Plymouth-Canton area. Rotarian Gary Davis reminded us of the history of the Rotary scholarships, which initially were designed to loan money to students for college.

Two people were awarded $1,000 for four years academic scholarships for post-secondary education. five people were awarded $1,000 merit scholarships. Ten people were awarded career educational scholarships.  Each type of scholarship had different Plymouth Rotarians and their respective selection committees.

Memorial Scholarship winners: Tracy Lytle, Salem; Megan Mihelick, Plymouth

Academic Excellence Award winners: Mathew Dybos, Salem; Laura Hahn, Plymouth; Jessica Lius, Plymouth; Xin-Kau Su, Canton; Paige Wojcik, Plymouth; Stephanie Wong, Canton.

Vocational Scholarship winners: Sarah Bauman, Starkweather; Juliana
Daniels, Salem; Kevin Stahl, Plymouth; Markkiesha Smith, Canton; Brian Sawle, Canton; Michael Archambault, Canton; Mineya Weldeab, Plymouth; Miriam Kazbour, Canton.

The Vocational Scholars are Sarah - Fashion Design, Julianna - Nursing, Kevin - Automotive Technology, Markkiesha - Media Broadcasting, Brian - High Performance Automotive Technology, Michael & Mineya - Culinary Arts, and Miriam -Business Administration.
