Governor's Picnic

The first annual Governors picnic on Bob-lo Island was a great success and will undoubtedly become a District tradition. More than 180 people braved the rainy and chilly forecast and glad they did. Under a covered pavillion, picnic goers danced to a live band, enjoyed activities for the children and plenty of food and fellowship. Kudos to organizers Arnie Charlton, Derek Locke, the Essex Rotary club and all the volunteers for the great food, fun and entertainment!

The 1st Annual Governor Picnic on Boblo Island was full of “sunshine” –under the pavilion that is - where Rotarians and their families stayed dry and enjoyed the amazing festivities! Over 200 folks braved the elements and came out to “Share Rotary”.

A very special thank you to our Family of Rotary Co-Chairs Arnie Charlton and Derek Locke. They had every detailed planned right down to an AMAZING children’s program and a BBQ extraordinaire! Many thanks to the Amherstburg Rotary Club and President Joan for hosting this event – and big kudo’s to the Essex Rotary Club for providing the awesome eats! They have one heck of a portable BBQ set-up!!

Additional thanks to the many Rotarians who volunteered their time and talent to make this such a special day. Take a look at the photo’s – there was a great band and lot’s of laughs! You won’t want to miss next year!
