District Assembly - 2008 Over 280 Rotarians attended a very energetic District Assembly and President-Nominee Training on Saturday, April 12th. Rotarians from newly installed Southgate Rotarian Jim Candrevas to PDG's from many years past attended the event. DG Jennifer Jones installed Jim on Saturday into the Southgate Rotary. Jim has expressed interest to host an exchange program. Could we have another club joining us next year? If you are interested, we can still get more students. Also Rotarians learned about Basic Needs and the call to start one new local needs and one new international needs that DGE Bruce Goldsen laid out at the assembly. There many presenters on various Rotary Topics. Also after a great buffet dinner-lunch, PDG Jim Ives gave a great speech about Leading Volunteers. The pictures below show much of what happened. It was a record packed crowd of enthusiastic Rotarians at a District Assembly.
